DR. Mohamed Afthab the Chairman/ CEO of Jaguar Security is a well known and highly recognized Entrepreneur in Sri Lanka. In addition he is the Managing Director and on the board of Directors of the following Companies:

– Bench Mark Holidays (PVT) LTD.
– Universal Energy Savings Lanka (PVT) LTD.
– Colombo Chamber of Commerce.

Educated at Gateway International School he excelled not only in studies but in sports as well. He began his business career at the age of eighteen by setting up Travel X (PVT) LTD in the travel and tourism industry. From then onwards he diversified the business and focused into the Gem & Jewelry trade and established himself in Bangkok at the age of 22 years. He went on to further diversify his portfolio and founded his flagship brand Scissors Salon (PVT) LTD in the year 2008. It is the only chain of salons which has the Certification of ISO 9001/2015. Due to his vision of quality and consistency Scissors Salon (PVT) LTD received many International and national awards.

In acknowledging his and his company’s work ethics, good governance and contribution to the economy he has been awarded with many Local & International accolades. In 2017 he has won Prestigious National Silver award – Entrepreneur of the Year 2017, (Western Province, Medium Category) & in 2018 National Gold award – Entrepreneur of the Year 2018, (Western Province, Medium Category), from Federation Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka which is the apex body of all the Chambers in Sri Lanka. This award is considered as one of the highest achievement an Entrepreneur can receive in his life time which evaluates the business and skills through a stringent criterion.

Scissors Salon received International Star Quality Awards from Geneva, Switzerland in 2016 which recognizes contribution in terms of Leadership, Quality, Innovation and Excellence, based on QC100 Total Quality Management model. Adding to this International Awards he also received European Standard for Quality Research (ESQR) from Belgium in 2017, from The European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) which promotes quality awareness, recognizes good business practices, technological innovation, and quality achievements in organizations worldwide.

Despite his early move into an Enterprenual carrier, he never stopped pursuing his education and at present is reading for his Masters degree in Business Administration.

In 2021 Dr. Afthab received the Honorary Doctorate for Business Administration from the American National Business University (USA).
